Let's start with some important regulatory information related to the COVID-19 vaccine:
- The CDC requires you to vaccinate any patient, regardless of their ability to pay or in-network status (check out the CDC's COVID-19 Vaccination Program Playbook for more details).
- You cannot bill Medicare Advantage plans for the COVID-19 vaccine, claims must be billed directly to Medicare.
The good news is there's also a requirement that payers reimburse you for the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine, even for out-of-network patients.

Are you enrolled with HRSA for uninsured patients?
If not, now is the time to get that process going so you are prepared when you start to receive COVID-19 vaccines. Follow this link to the enrollment portal to get your pharmacy signed up: HRSA's COVID-19 Uninsured Program Portal.
Once your pharmacy is enrolled with HRSA, they will provide instructions on how to submit uninsured patients to them for verification. HRSA will send back a member ID (usually within about 24 hours) for any uninsured patients that you will use to adjudicate the claim with OmniSYS.
